As part of our CURA Health Day, we wanted to do something good for our own health, but also for the health of others who have a harder time than we do. To this end, the employees at the walking pad at BR Grasse diligently collected kilometers to benefit the early support of children with visual impairments. 100 per kilometer walked was raised for the Tyrol Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
Together with Caritas Tirol, we made Integrationshaus Innsbruck the venue for a special campaign:
Around 20 adults and children: Caritas employees, members of the CURA sustainability team and residents of the Integrationshaus joined forces to clean up around the building. As a symbol of shared growth and sustainable cooperation, we then donated an apple tree and planted it together. The younger participants developed an awareness of environmental protection and resource conservation in a playful way during the campaign, while our employees gained a valuable insight into living together and the daily work of Caritas.
More impressions of the educational day and the Integrationshaus Innsbruck can be found on our YouTube channel: Earth Day at Caritas Integrationshaus Innsbruck | One Tree for Social Sustainability 🌳
At Christmas time in particular, we at the CURA COSMETICS GROUP would like to make a contribution to the community. One of our Christmas donations this year will go to a Caritas Tirol project for single parents. This provides targeted help for those who often need it most.
Single parents often face major challenges - be it financial or organizational. With our donation, we would like to provide targeted support and make a small contribution to more equal opportunities and hope for these families.
Our disused appliances are reused in a sustainable and valuable way. Thanks to great campaigns such as the Ö3 Wundertüte. Our older devices are donated through this every year. Our employees also have the opportunity to send in private devices via our back office.
All newer cell phones and laptops that we have retired but are still in top condition are passed on to families in emergency situations by the Soccer Team association and its Help for Kids initiative. In this way, even discarded company devices still bring joy!
To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we worked with wineAid not only to toast our successes, but also to do some good. Half of all proceeds from our wine orders went to organizations such as the Children's Cancer Aid or the Society of Austrian Children's Villages.
Our diet has an impact on us and our environment. With WANU, we rely on a product that is not only healthy but also sustainable when it comes to snacks for our employees. The organic walnuts come from the Republic of Moldova, where they are grown without pesticides and harvested in a socially responsible manner.
Twice as sustainable:
Three of our company laptops receive this as a gift. In their CURA pension, the disused but fully functional devices are allowed to move into the women's shelter in Tyrol. There they will be an important aid and support for women and families in turbulent times. After our donations in the past, we are delighted to be able to make another contribution to this important cause with a donation in kind and to support the great work of the women's shelter.
Once again this year, we want to use Christmas as an opportunity to think of those who have it tougher than we do. For this reason, we've decided to forego all customer gifts and instead increase our Christmas donations.
2000 will go to the Help for Kids donation fund of the SOCCER TEAM association, which will use the contribution for the "Christmas wish for the Christ Child" campaign. This project will fulfill the Christmas wishes of twelve children in need.
6000 will go to the Humanitarian Aid for Ukraine association, and we're also collecting warm winter clothing.
We're donating €1000 to our long-standing partner Verein Emmaus.
We give something back! In this case, laptops. We have donated five devices that we've retired but are still fully functional to the SoccerTeam association for their Help for Kids initiative. Their mission is to give children growing up in difficult circumstances a better future. They offer support in the form of education, social services and material aid to improve the lives of these children. We 've topped up our donation with a number of products from our lifestyle range.
People in front of rubble and ashes, a father holding the hand of his buried daughter - the images of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have hit us hard. Aafter the rescue, the best possible intensive medical care is essential.
Fast, unbureaucratic aid with the highest level of commitment: this is exactly what Médecins Sans Frontières stands for. Over 30 hospitals and aid facilities in the affected areas are currently being supported by MSF with emergency medical kits and staff.
We've therefore decided to support this organisation with a donation of €1000. All information on donation options and the work of Doctors Without Borders on the ground can be found at https://www.aerzte-ohne-grenzen.at/artikel/erdbeben-syrien-und-der-tuerkei-unsere-katastrophenhilfe.
For most of us, enjoying the holidays with our loved ones and making them feel loved with presents is important. However, not all families can do this. This is why our Christmas donations go to organisations that aim to improve the everyday lives of people in need and make their holidays as stress free as possible.
The Hoffnung für Kinder association provides children from disadvantaged families with gifts and organises celebration events.
Under the motto "Do something good for yourself and others", we set up our brainLight relaxation chair for CURA employees and Beauty World customers at the start of 2022. CURA doubled the amount generated from it and donated it to Frauenhaus Tirol at Christmas.
The news from the Ukraine continues to upset us. Our thoughts are with all those who live in fear for their personal safety their families. It's important that we do something in this terrible situation.
SOS Children's Villages does great work on the ground to help children and families. We've decided to support them with a donation of €1000.
Their concrete aid measures include support with evacuation and emergency accommodation, transporting people to safe areas, providing food and hygiene items, immediate psychological help after stress and shock and welcoming refugee families in Austria.
Depending on how the situation develops, the measures will be extended to neighbouring countries and affected families will receive long-term support.
You can find more about the measures and support options at: https: //www.sos-kinderdorf.at/helfen-sie-mit/spenden/hilfsprojekte/ukraine
SOLAWI stands for solidarity agriculture - one such project is run by the Emmaus association in Hall in Tyrol. Farmers and individuals grow fruit and vegetables together at the former Thurnfeld monastery.
The initiative reflects values such as mutual appreciation, solidarity, mindfulness and community, which are also embedded in our CURA Values.
The CURA COSMETICS GROUP has supported this fantastic project with a donation of €2000 for the ecological irrigation system and is also purchasing seedlings for the urban gardening beds on the roof terrace from the Emmaus association, which helps former addicts to reintegrate into working life.
Judith Williams and the CURA Cosmetics Group support the Arche Herzensbrücken association with two family sponsorships.
This fantastic initiative enables families with seriously ill children to take a break in a specially designed hotel in Seefeld.
The Arche Herzensbrücken weeks give families a bit of normality and the chance to recharge their batteries.
In addition to our traditional donation of €2000 to Licht ins Dunkel, we also decided to donate to another great initiative inChristmas 2021.
Through the "Das Christkind hat mich nicht vergessen!" campaign, we supported families who do not have the financial means to buy their children Christmas presents. We also donated €2000 to this cause.
For many years now, CURA has donated the approximately €50 that we would spend per employee on Christmas presents to the "Licht ins Dunkel" campaign. To ensure that our employees don't go away empty-handed, we organise a raffle every year and raffle off all the company Christmas presents we receive from business partners.
In October 2020, CURA employees cleaned out their wardrobes and collected used clothing in good condition for the "Babäm" second-hand store. The proceeds from sales will go directly to SOS Children's Villages.
